Often times, I see a photo of a person with half their face in the light, and half their face in the dark. Usually, I see that the photographer has only lit the eye that is in the light side of the face. The eyes are so expressive that I wanted to see if I could put half a face in the dark, yet still keep the eyes both lit.

Actually, that part came second. First I wanted to create the mood. I used only two lights. One is to the model's left, and the other is behind him. Then we experimented with a couple different poses until we got the one that produced this photo.
