I was particularly interested in doing some new things with lighting for this shoot. I had recently come across some photos of this model that were taken with a simple point-and-shoot camera with built-in flash, and he had done his make-up very similarly to how it is here. I liked the effect, and decided to go for that affect purposely. So we did his makeup and headed out to take some photos with a simple camera-mounted flash. While this photo is one of the least dramatic poses we did, I like the effect the most here.
