THINGS WE'VE LEARNED FROM SURPRISEBOX * Everybody loves to talk about themselves. * Everybody feels comfortable with lists, less comfortable with less defined forms. * There's more humanity than we could expect. * Everybody respects other's content. Perhaps too much. * Limitations (1MB) makes think more before adding something, which is not bad. * Limitations (text) surprisingly boost imagination and set up for finding new ways. Just like design, which is always limited. * People will self-organize and surprise you. * Certain anonymity is good for freedom of expression, but it should be limited to prevent irresponsibleness. * It's hard to get rid of self-reflection and immerse yourself into action. If you are a designer, you'll probably think about what will happen next and why. * The crazy people (with the weirdest ideas) win the world. * Everybody (almost) dreams of flying. * Things get boring way too fast * It's important to know is there something new. Walking in and seeing everything in its place can be frustrating * "This is where curiosity comes into the equation" * Fewer files with more updates is less intimidating than a million files, in folders, where you can't figure out what changed.
