Mosquito and Me

From WordNet dictionary:

mosquito
 n 1: two-winged insect whose female has a
long proboscis to pierce the skin and
suck the blood of humans and animals

Well, this is common knowledge. Here is my story...

I have decided that I wanted to stop killing mosquitos while I sleep. In a way, I was curious to know what most mosquitos want with my face. I noticed that rarely I get bitten in the face (mostly I am bitten on other parts of my body).

So, I started allowing mosquitos to land on my face, besides the annoying noise that mosquitos do while flying. I guess this annoyment is what leads most people into wanting to kill mosquitos. So... I did allow mosquito landing. This was what happened...

While, most of the time, mosquitos do not bite me when they land on my face, it gets pretty nerve racking, me thinking "You bastard want to suck my blood"; but, most times, this is false. After some time, I cannot last long, and I usually do gently push the mosquito away.

Notice that I am talking mosquito in the singular, because I believe that by now, I can already distinguish if is the same mosquito visitor, or if is a new mosquito. Most of the time is the same mosquito... Until a cat eats that mosquito.

I have also killed mosquitos, in the past, something that I have stopped doing now.

So, in a way, I have made Peace on the Human-Mosquito relationship. Somehow, this shows that fear is not so strong, even human's irrational mosquito fear.

Let's improve the Human-Mosquito relationship, since Human_Society-to-Human_Society relationship is not getting much improvement, lately.
