Use a keyboard. DualShock controllers aren't ergonomical on difficult notecharts.
A DualShock controller suits these games if jumping annoys your neighbors.
You can actually spam inputs faster without bongos or a drum (lol).
The gameplay fits DualShock controllers perfectly.
I usually map all of the buttons to a keyboard. A Dreamcast or DualShock controller will drive you bonkers in 9-button mode.
