                                   Heximal Time

First, the scale. I use a nice, simple 36 to the power of 6 for the largest
three time units: 36 hours to the day, 36 minutes to the hour, and 36 seconds to
the minute. This gives me time periods close to decimal time. The heximal hour
is 40 decimal minutes, two thirds of a decimal hour but still able to serve the
purpose as a large unit of time. By coincidence, the heximal minute is almost a
decimal minute; about 1 minute, 4 seconds. The heximal second is just under two
decimal seconds, still reasonable to use for counting off moments. Additionally,
one tenth of a heximal second is one third of a decimal second, which is still
countable by humans, unlike one tenth of a decimal second.

More importantly, time mathmatics is now trivial. Whats 250 seconds in minutes?
In heximal, it's 2 minutes, 50 seconds; in decimal it's 4 minutes, ten seconds.
Scale that up to hours, too: 3 hours, 20 minutes 310 minutes or 3,1000 seconds
in heximal.

And if your using heximal numbering in general, it meshes trivally into that.
Converting 1 hour, 2 minutes into a decimal number of hours is not trivial,
because dealing with fractions of 60 isn't easy in decimal unless you're hitting
one of the convenient numbers like 15 or 20. In decimal, it's 1.03333 repeating.
In heximal, it's 1.02 hours.

All this means that children, when first learning time, will no longer struggle
with the inconsistencies of decimal numbering with sexagesimal/quadravigesimal
time. Counting and time all work the same way, mutually reinforcing each other
in learning. And this carries over to adulthood, making time calculations much
simpler overall.

Interestingly, a heximal clock would feel similiar. Minutes and seconds are
already counted 00-59; in heximal they're 00-55, and your intuitions work the
same. For example, half an hour is 30 in both heximal and decimal time. It's
only the hour that would significantly change, from a 0-23 count in decimal to a
0-55 count in heximal.
