Killed our DirecTV service the other night. We were paying roughly $250 a month a while ago. We had all of the options (sports, movies, etc, probably had a kitchen sink in there somewhere too) and we really didn't use them. Sports ground to a fast halt with the Coronavirus pandemic, so we were paying for a very expensive sports package and weren't using it. Also, we rarely watched any of the movie channels, plus we have Prime Video, so why were we paying for the movie channels? We dropped those and took the bill down to about $150 per month. Not soon after, we downgraded the package and got it down to $125 or so.

We eventually decided that we had had enough and cancelled our DirecTV service. I'll have a seperate page on that here. We ordered 2 4K Amazon Fire Sticks and 2 OTA antennas. (The living room TV already had a Fire Stick and I already had an antenna for my TV.) Connected them up, set everything up, and we've completely cut out satellite TV.

Why pay $130 a month for 500 channels when there's only 5 worth watching and only one of them at a time is worth watching, if that?

Drove on the interstate for the first time today. Definitely different than driving on regular roads, even those rated at 70 or 75MPH. Need more practice on it, though it, as with most (if not all) other things, should get better with practice.

A few days on, a few months off. That's how it goes, right?
