Crispy little tofu bites.

Why This Recipe?

They're a delicious addition to many recipes or served as a side. They work great in salads, fried rice, curry, pad thai, or served beside some roast brussels sprouts or steamed asparagus. They're quite versatile and can be eaten alone as a finger food snack.

Drying the Tofu

  1. Drain the tofu.
  2. Dice into half inch cubes.
  3. Line cutting board with paper towel.
  4. Arrange tofu cubes on cutting board in a single layer.
  5. Sandwich with paper towel and second cutting board.
  6. Apply weight on top of cutting board sandwich using heavy cans or jars.
  7. Leave to dry for 1 hour.

Baking the Tofu

  1. Preheat oven to 400℉.
  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl combine tofu, oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Gently mix until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange tofu in a single layer on baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, tossing halfway, until golden brown.
