The nowadays social media M.O.: if you are not an influencer, you are transparent; if you don't take photos, write tweets, or make videos like the majority, you are not an influencer; if you are not seen, what you think matters to no one.
But of course, you don't see this M.O. in clear text anywhere in their User Agreements. The way the contemporary Internet operates facilitate one way of self-expression and one way only. Freedom of speech still largely exists. It is the will to express lacking.
I remember the older Internet. My first role models and friends were on it. But they are less and less visible now. Probably they are not so keen about expressing themselves, or it is too difficult to see stars in constant flares.
I find no loss in quiting social media. But I still need a place that can convince me that my ideas can be seen and have value to at least one other person. If you are seeing this, you are validating this belief. Thank you.
