Well, this is my thing...this is what I love...this is what I spend most of my time doing so here goes. Much like the rest of this site, this page is for me to let you know how I am involved with music and the music I think you should listen to.

Frst I'll tell you how I am involved with music.

1. I am the Director of the Music and Entertainment Committee at the U of Wisconsin Union. Basically this means I direct the committee that brings music to the Unions (we have two) every friday and saturday night in both unions. So we put on four shows every weekend. It's a crapload of work but I really enjoy it. It's amazing how much I have learned about the business. If you go to UW and you want to get involved email me at mbjacobs@students.wisc.edu.

2. I am an avid listener of music. I own close to 550 cds, close to 100 LPs and a number of cassettes. I would definitely say I am a collecter. Very soon I will have some kind of database of all my cds online. Soon I hope. Anyway, I like all kinds of music but I am especially akin to pop, acoustic rock, alt.country and a crapload of other stuff. If you go to my links page (which doesn't exist yet) you can find links to all the different bands I think deserve to be heard. Well, not all of them, but a lot of them.

3. I am a rep for Guster, Thin Lizard Dawn, Aware Records and P.J. Olsson. Basically that means I like them a lot and want to spread the music. Although I am thinking about dropping the Aware thing, it is not exactly what I had hoped it would be, but I still advocate buying from them. They have good prices and a great selection. Anyway, this has been cool b/c I have helped these bands with distrubiting flyers and cd singles and whatnot. It is the bomb.

4. I sing when my best friend Will plays guitar. It is fun. We make up songs and they are silly. It keeps me from going insane sometimes.

Well, I think I am going to end this page here for now, but as I get more energy and more ideas I will ammend it.
