It's been some time, but the urge to Blog has taken me once again. Let's take stock:
- I'm thankfully still with Michael. He's going to move back to the Twin Cities in June.
- Our building got sold to a different scumbag landlord who evicted us to raise the rent. Our new place isn't too far off.
- The United Snakes of Amerikkka is funding the mass extermination of the people of Palestine. American popular opposition to the occupation is at an all time high, even as the political class doubles down on support for it.
- Winter is coming to an end and it's been obscenely warm. We got two major snowfalls that both melted within a week. Again, it's not clear who or what is going to change this state of affairs.
- I lost my job, got another one, and a couple weeks ago my car blew the head gasket, and became unemployed again. It feels like all of my friends are going through major life crises, but I'm strangely optimistic. We'll drag ourselves through it by the teeth if we have to. I'm starting another job soon
- I've been using my personal journal intermittently. It's often helpful. My mental health has been surprisingly solid lately. I'll be 30 this year, and I'm not even that stressed about it.
- I've also been playing quite a bit of Magic: The Gathering. I've got some ideas about that.
- Currently reading: The Wretched of the Earth by Frantz Fanon.
I recently played through the Nintendo Switch re-release of Metal Gear for the MSX2, and I intend to post my thoughts on it soon.
You held in your necessity
A promise of machinic soul,
But never will you run again
Returned to mangled metal-mud.If fate should draw me back to you
In cavern marsh below the earth,
Remember that I struggled long
To break that rust of winters' age;Arrest the ancient belt and gear
that drive the instruments of death.
