August 8th 2026 is HTML Day and people will be gathering in places around the world to unleash the HTML Energy! 🎉 We will In Karlstad this celebration will take place in the HTML Tower pictured below. ⤵️

Folklore holds that the HTML Tower was generously funded by the Swipnet Foundation and erected through the benevolent efforts of our municipality. This Heideggeresque escape is the perfect place for composing markup. It boasts walls, windows, doors and a generous rooftop. Internet connectivity and electricity is brought, not served.
Be advised! Sometimes people looking for birds enter the structure. While this remains a rare occurrence, we have never understood why it happens. Fear not, there are no birds inside the tower and we’ve learned that these mistaken pilgrims come in peace. From our experience they’re usually oblivious to HTML.
