A thing that just went around on Twitter is cool retro term which does some lovely, lovely CRT emulation on top of one’s shell. I mean, look at this.

That is the IBM 3278 profile, the most usable of the batch. There are others that incorporate scan lines, horizontal jitter, or other annoying artifacts of the good old days. Those are probably better for fun demos and things than for everyday use. My husband suggested using it on a status output screen at the cloud provider he works for, which amuses me greatly.

I wish this had been around (or that we’d known about it) when tilde.club was in its prime.
