Apparently, MySQL and PHP came with me installed XAMPP so I didn't even need to install them separately. You can really see my incompetence with these things. I've already been writing a bit in PHP so I don't know why I didn't realise that when I never bothered installing it separately. I suppose I thought I did and just forgot. My homebrewed BBS, the Bakery, doesn't have a 'database' and instead saves directly to an RSS file: this works fine, but is likely not scalable over a long period of time. There's only a handful of posters, so it's not a problem now, but I ought to learn how to make it work with an actual database eventually. Today, I'm on a work outing. I don't like these sorts of things, since I don't really like people (my coworkers themselves are fine to hang around with; I just don't like people in general). I'd rather be home where I can work on my webcomic a bit more, and study SQL. But here I am. At least there's a lot of food here.
