The use of religious or spiritual beliefs and practices in recovery is a personal choice and not a part of the SMART program as such. Holiday Protection Plan Christmas Group Therapy - I don't believe in myself (Santa) I think I'm by Polar (Snowman) All the reindeer call me names (Rudolph) I'm in a dead end job (elf) Not succumb to the dislocations imposed by the Covid new normal; Not sucumb to the added stress of family get-togethers. Plan ahead - Remember No is a complete sentence. And have an exit strategy. Plan out who you need to tell you are leaving. Take away is BE PROACTIVE - make sure you have a planned activity for the rest of the night. Support: Wingman, Chaperone, pre arrange with host "don't serve me" VR world, schedule a zoom call. Have a plan B if things go wrong. Make sure you have things to support your VACI (food, books, colored pens, etc.) Make sure you Eat Right (Healthy & On schedule) and get sleep. The artist way - write 750 words in the morning (3 pages of text) to be able to reframe the day before it starts.
