7 Feb 2022 - 7:30-9AM - Discussion with Hatrick and Kibou - 35 people Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

This weeks topic is "Choices"

Viktor Frankl
When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.
"Those who have a why to live, can bear with almost any how."
"Our greatest freedom to choose our attitude."
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

There is a space before stimulus - the HOV and Change Plans helps us manage the stimulus when it comes.

Urges are result of the stimulus - we need to have plans on what to do as a response.

Better responses is where the growth and freedom is.

"The Wolf I Feed"
Once upon a time, there was a Cherokee grandfather (or Navajo grandfather), who told his grandson, “Grandson, there are two wolves inside of me. One wolf is white, good and altruistic, generous and kind, and the other wolf is black, mean and greedy, violent and angry. The two wolves are in a constant fight within me.” The grandson, with wide eyes, says, “But which one will win, grandpa?” And the grandfather says (there is usually a deliberate pause here for effect before delivering the spiritual punchline – wait for it), “The one which I feed.”
